Hamburg Board votes to raise water and sewer connection fees

misc · Meeting of July 8, 2026

NJ HAMBURG — Hamburg Board votes to raise water and sewer fees for first time in 29 years. CFO Joseph Brezina told the Board of Public Works that the current rates, $2,174.50 for water and $2,440.47 for sewer, have been unchanged since 1997 and represent undercharges. The board voted 3-0 to approve the increase, with two members absent per roll call.

Brezina presented two options: either an external survey of appropriate rates or direct board formulation. The minutes do not specify which approach the board selected.
